Marlins Cruise to League Championship with Sweep Tuesday, January 25th , 2050 Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Division B Divisional Series. It turned out quite a bit different. The Miami (WIN) Marlins swept aside the Arizona (WIN) Diamondbacks to advance to the League Championship, winning the final game by a 7-0 score at Roger Dean Stadium. The series MVP was left fielder Mike Gar, who hit .417 with a .417 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
