Miami (WIN) Marlins Are Champs Thursday, February 17th , 2050 It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Miami (WIN) Marlins, that meant the Winter League Baseball World Series trophy. The Marlins took a 2-1 victory over the Baltimore (WIN) Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 4-2. "We've got grit," said Marlins right fielder Adam Durgin, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Division B and a 34-8 record. |
