Rolfe Gets Award for Relief Work
Monday, February 28th , 2050
At the age of 25, Manny Rolfe says he still has a lot to learn about life in Winter League Baseball.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Baltimore (WIN) Orioles reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2049 Division A Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Edgemont Park, Michigan native said.
For the season, Rolfe had 7 saves in 16 relief appearances, which totaled 21. He fanned 34 betters, while walking 7 and put up a record of 2-0 to go with his 0.00 ERA.
He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mario Amore of the Toronto (WIN) Blue Jays finished second in voting, while Ruben Arana of the Detroit (WIN) Tigers finished third.
