Smith Launches 3 HR for Cubs
Sunday, December 4th , 2050
In a powerful performance that left the fans at Sloan Park buzzing, Chicago (WIN) Cubs right fielder Erik Smith blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 12-4 win over the Los Angeles (WIN) Dodgers.
"Everything was clicking," Smith told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."
Smith shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Cubs manager Jake Bauers said. "Erik played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."
Erik Smith hit a two-run home run off Adrian Huerta in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Keith Birely in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Will West in the 8th.
