Quiroga and Richards Fight, Get Suspended Sunday, December 11th , 2050 Yesterday at Joker Marchant Stadium German Quiroga and Eric Richards got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Detroit (WIN) Tigers and Texas (WIN) Rangers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Quiroga will have to sit out 4 while Richards would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. During the current season Quiroga is batting at a .147 clip with 1 home run and 1 RBIs. He has played in 10 games and scored 4 times. |
