Jones Tosses 5-0 Shutout for Washington (WIN) Tuesday, January 14th , 2048 Washington (WIN) Nationals pitcher Cory Jones blanked the Kansas City (WIN) Royals 5-0 at Space Coast Stadium today, tossing a 3-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 10 strikeouts. After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club. "I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Jones said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today." Jones has nailed down no saves for the year. He has also totaled 68 strikeouts and 9 walks in 58 innings while registering a 2.48 ERA and a 4-4 won-lost record. |
