Phillies Come up Short of Playoffs Wednesday, January 15th , 2048 A late-season playoff push is not in the cards for the Philadelphia (WIN) Phillies. The club today was mathematically knocked out of playoff contention. "There are a lot of long faces around right now," said Phillies manager Chris Rodgers. "You know in your head that every year, most teams in baseball have to go through this, but it still hurts when you realize you've lost your shot at a title." This is the club's 2nd playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2045.In total, the Phillies have missed the playoffs 22 times in their 32-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Phillies have only made the playoffs once. Philadelphia (WIN) last won the World Series in 2018. |
