Bad Behavior Costs De Jongh and Julien
Friday, January 15th , 2049
Yesterday at Surprise Stadium Nate De Jongh and Chris Julien got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Kansas City (WIN) Royals and Seattle (WIN) Mariners. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that De Jongh will have to sit out 4 while Julien would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
Thus far this year De Jongh is hitting .208 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
Checking out his stats for the year, Julien has racked up 3 wins and 4 losses in 8 starts, 6.49 ERA and struck out 49 batters in 43 innings.
