Tigers Cusick and Tourists Shanks Suspended for Fight Monday, January 6th , 2048 Yesterday at Joker Marchant Stadium Aaron Cusick and Dave Shanks got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Detroit (WIN) Tigers and Asheville Tourists. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Cusick will have to sit out 4 while Shanks would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Cusick has socked 14 hits in 98 at-bats for a .143 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .236 pace and his totals also include 8 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |
