Munoz Swats 3 Homers
Monday, August 8th , 2050
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Hamilton Cardinals today.
Detroit left fielder Sandy Munoz tripled up on the home runs to propel the Red Wings to the 12-3 win at Stoney Creek Stadium.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Hamilton manager Nelson Boche said. "Munoz hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Munoz collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Sandy Munoz hit a two-run home run off Nathan Waters in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Nathan Waters in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Ricky Pichardo in the 7th.
Munoz is currently batting .487 with 25 home runs and 54 RBIs.
