Kaufmann, Porter Suspended for Fracas Saturday, August 20th , 2050 After an intense confrontation, both the Avalanche Bob Kaufmann and the Flames Edwin Porter were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Colorado-Calgary game. Bob Kaufmann will miss 5 games, while Edwin Porter was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Bob Kaufmann commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Kaufmann is hitting at a .153 mark this season. His stats show 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has played 89 games for the Avalanche. So far this season Porter has a 6-1 record, 12 starts, 76.2 innings, 95 strikeouts and a 1.88 ERA. |
