Blocker and Stritter Brawl, League Suspends Them Sunday, September 11th , 2050 After an intense confrontation, both the Pirates Jose Blocker and the Revolution Rüdiger Stritter were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Chester-York game. Jose Blocker will miss 4 games, while Rüdiger Stritter was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jose Blocker commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." On the year Blocker is hitting .241 with 78 hits, 12 home runs, 36 RBIs, .329 OBP and has scored 41 runs. So far this year Stritter has made 19 starts, tossed 94.2 innings, struck out 94 batters and walked 37. His record is 3-8 with a 3.61 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .244 batting average. |
