Timmons Tosses No-Hitter Against Aigles
Thursday, September 15th , 2050
Canton Indians starter Adam Timmons said he was standing behind the mound when the scoreboard caught his eye, confirming what he already knew: He was one out from a no-hitter. For a couple of seconds, he didn't move.
"I took a breath and told myself 'This is the last one,'" Timmons recalled.
The right-hander collected himself, got the final out, and finished one of the greatest performances of his career.
The Canton right-hander no-hit the Trois-Riveres Aigles 2-0 at Canton Ballpark, finishing with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts, facing only 29 batters.
"I knew for a while it was a no-hitter," Timmons admitted later. "But I really didn't worry about it until the last out. I thought I just wanted to win the game, and then I realized I wanted the no-hitter, too."
To date this season Timmons is 12-1 with 22 starts and an ERA of 1.50 with 158 strikeouts in 126.1 innings.
