League Suspends Phong 4 Games Monday, September 19th , 2050 Hassle an umpire and you will have to pay the consequences. Just ask Windy City third baseman Nhat Phong. He argued to excess over a third strike yesterday in the Windy City-Brockton game at ThunderBolts Center. Today the league office notified Phong that he had been given a 4-game suspension for his egregious conduct. Luckily the ThunderBolts manager and the bench coach intervened physically and removed him from the field. Otherwise it might have gotten even worse. In 102 games this season Phong is batting .261 with 92 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 45 runs and driven in 51. |
