Todd Wolters Wallops 3 Homers for Phantoms
Thursday, September 22nd , 2050
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the London Majors today.
Niagara Falls second baseman Todd Wolters tripled up on the home runs to propel the Phantoms to the 11-5 win at Niagara Falls Casino & Resort.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," London manager Curt Johnson said. "Wolters hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Wolters collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Todd Wolters grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Alessandro Cuoco in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kieran Jesso in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Kiyokazu Fujiwara in the 8th.
This season Wolters is batting .287 with 92 hits, 19 home runs, 44 RBIs, .347 OBP and has scored 47 runs.
