He hit three out of the park at Columbus Baseball Complex, got his name in the league record book, but Winnipeg came up short in the win column, losing to the Reds 13-12. The Winnipeg first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long. "I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats." For the game he went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Cameron said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss." Tony Cameron hit a solo-shot off Quentin Archdeacon in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Quentin Archdeacon in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jose Crisanto in the 6th and walked in the 8th. For the year Cameron has hit at a .184 clip with 28 RBIs, 17 home runs and 30 runs scored. |
