Round 1 Goes the Distance, Colorado Prevails Sunday, October 23rd , 2050 The Colorado Avalanche and Joplin Blasters hooked up in a classic Round 1 that went right down to the wire. In the end, it's Colorado heading off to the Quarter-Finals, after a 8-2 win at Denver Stadium tonight earned the 4-3 series win. Outside Denver Stadium, whether they were supporters of Colorado or Joplin, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget. Ollie Strauss played the hero for the Avalanche in the series, as his MVP performance included a .333 batting average, with a .448 on-base percentage.
