Kelowna Hexed: No-Hit by Whitling Saturday, October 29th , 2050 There was magic on the mound today at Andrew Wray Stadium as Miami Beach Marlins starter Doug Whitling no-hit the Kelowna Heat. Whitling held Kelowna hitters spellbound and helpless in a masterful display of pitching, leading the Marlins to a 2-0 win. "It was like I was in a dream," Whitling said afterward. "The ball just went right where I wanted it to." In his mound masterpiece, Whitling rang up 12 strikeouts and issued 2 walks. This season Whitling has gone 6-5 with an ERA of 1.77, posting 158 strikeouts in 127 innings. |
