Hemsley Belts 3 HRs Sunday, November 6th , 2050 Jonathan Hemsley brutalized the Colorado Avalanche pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 4-0 victory at Denver Stadium. The Kelowna Heat center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Jonathan Hemsley today," Avalanche manager Norman Veldwijk said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Jonathan Hemsley hit a solo-shot off Erik Bradshaw in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Erik Bradshaw in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Chris West in the 8th. So far this year Hemsley is hitting .229 with 15 home runs. |
