Bradshaw Super -- No-Hits Detroit Sunday, November 13th , 2050 In a dominant outing, Erik Bradshaw of the Colorado Avalanche totally silenced the bats of the Detroit Red Wings, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Avalanche' 2-0 victory, Bradshaw faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 10 strikeouts and 3 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Colorado manager Norman Veldwijk said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Lee Alonzo had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game. "The Avalanche had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Bradshaw pitched a heck of a ballgame." In 28 starts this season, Bradshaw has picked up 17 wins while suffering 5 losses. He has pitched 181 innings, allowed 99 hits, struck out 240 and posted a 1.69 ERA. |
