He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Mike Swainston performed like a veteran on the hill for the London Majors and walked away with the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year Award in the process.
The 20-year-old Majors star fashioned a 16-3 won-loss record in 2050 with a 1.05 ERA. In 146 innings of work and 24 starts, Swainston struck out 189 while giving up 68 hits and 22 walks. He held opposing batters to a .137 average.
He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 30. Milorad Telacevic of the Canton Indians finished second in voting with 11 first place votes, while Adam Timmons of the Canton Indians finished third with 1 first place vote.
