After defeating the Redlands East Valley Wildcats, 5-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments. "I'm just glad to be here," Arellano said. "Today I just went right at the Wildcats as hard as I could, as long as I could." Arellano chalked up 12 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk in his superb performance.
