Oregon State University Dazed, Brown Gets No-Hitter Tuesday, November 29th , 2050 Excitement reigned at Davenport Field today as University of Virginia Cavaliers hurler Wilbart Brown tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter. After defeating the Oregon State University Beavers, 3-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments. "I'm just glad to be here," Brown said. "Today I just went right at the Beavers as hard as I could, as long as I could." Brown chalked up 9 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks in his superb performance. "I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said University of Virginia manager Joc Pederson. So far this year Brown has compiled a 4-4 record with a 1.28 ERA. |
