O'Malley Goes on Rampage Against Indians
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Brandon O'Malley, it came around today.

The 19-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Detroit Tigers Complex to pace the Detroit (APP) Tigers to a 31-0 victory over the Cleveland (APP) Indians.

Cleveland (APP) skipper Ryan Jackson told reporters in the press room that "O'Malley deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, O'Malley hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Brandon O'Malley grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jordan Jimenez in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.

This season O'Malley is swinging the bat at a .331 pace. He has hit 2 home runs and scored 30 times, while driving in 20. His on-base percentage is .420 and he has played in 30 games.
