Superb Year for Moore, Wins Most Valuable Player Award

The future looks extremely bright for David Moore. At the age of 24, many players are still trying to find their way in Appalachian League.
Moore has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the National League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .427 this year, that's for sure," the catcher said.
The Billings Mustangs star also put up a .603 on-base percentage this year, with 218 hits, 42 doubles, 4 triples, 84 home runs, 239 RBIs and 228 runs scored.
He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 30. Steve Page of the Kingsport Mets finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Ryan Tatum of the San Diego (APP) Padres finished third with 4 first place votes.

American League Names Pastore Best Player

Ryan Pastore took Appalachian League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 26.
For his spectacular campaign, the Texas (APP) Rangers star has been named the 2044 American League Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the first baseman.
On the season he compiled a .405 batting average to go with a .466 on-base percentage. The native of Manalapan Township, New Jersey also added 31 doubles, 1 triple, 108 home runs, 252 RBIs and 192 runs scored.
He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Wil Urban of the Princeton Rays finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Jack Andrews of the Bluefield Blue Jays finished third.
