Marlins Pitching Ravaged by Quezada
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Pedro Quezada as he led the charge to a 23-0 win over the Marlins. The San Francisco (APP) third baseman was pure misery for the Miami (APP) pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Quezada put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Ryan Butler, manager for the Marlins, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Pedro Quezada hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
For the year Quezada has hit .292 with 12 home runs, 55 RBIs and scored 67 runs.
