Barnes Brilliant, Fans 17 Monday, October 3rd , 2044 Boston (APP) Red Sox starter Nick Barnes brought his best stuff to Red Sox Complex today against the Cleveland (APP) Indians, striking out 17 batters in his club's 31-0 victory. In a strong performance, the 20-year-old Barnes gave up 1 hit in his 8 innings of work and issued no walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my splitter was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." This season Barnes has compiled a 13-8 record with a 4.29 ERA. |
