Hits Galore: Campbell Drills 5 Hits
Sunday, October 9th , 2044
Even as a kid, David Campbell said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Joe O'Brien Field today, Campbell showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 20-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Elizabethton Twins, helping his team knock off the Greeneville Astros by a score of 34-8.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
David Campbell flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Tim Watson in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
Campbell currently has a .339 batting average with 180 hits, 19 homers, 93 RBIs, 153 runs scored and a .457 OBP.
