Conaway Rips Greeneville for 5 Hits

No matter what the Greeneville Astros threw at him today, Mike Conaway hit it. He easily handled Astros pitching, going 5 for 8 and helping the Mariners to a 29-1 triumph at Pioneer Park.
"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Conaway's quip, Astros skipper Gera Alvarez said he "would take him up on that next time."
Mike Conaway singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Conaway is currently hitting at a .275 pace with 7 home runs and 60 RBIs.
