Chicago (APP) 2B Nava Suspended
Saturday, October 22nd , 2044
It got ugly on the field today in the Cubs and Mustangs game, when Leonardo Nava was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Before he left the dugout area, Nava threw a few bats and a garbage can on the field toward home plate.
League officials thought the Chicago (APP) second baseman went too far and gave him a 3-game suspension.
"Sometimes your emotions get the better of you and you just sort of lose control," Nava told reporters, "but that doesn't mean I was wrong, just out of control."
For the season, Nava is hitting at a .287 clip with 17 home runs, 83 RBIs and has scored 91 runs. He has 110 hits, 54 walks and a .393 on-base percentage.
