DIV II's Top Player, Fortin of Oklahoma State University Monday, October 10th , 2044 19-year-old John Fortin made a few Oklahoma State University headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Division 2 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 9 hits in 16 at-bats to put up a .563 average. Fortin collected 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 9 runs. Thus far this season in 45 games Fortin is batting .284 with 9 home runs, 33 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 141 at-bats. |
