Gomez Goes on Rampage Against Wildcats Monday, October 17th , 2044 It was high-fives all around for Enrique Gomez at Hi Corbett Field today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the University of Arizona Wildcats. Gomez smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 7-1 win. "Enrique was hitting everything," said Gamecocks manager Brandon Tuten. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Wildcats manager Josh Thole told BNN beat writers that Gomez "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Gomez oversleeps next time." Enrique Gomez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Currently Gomez has 6 home runs and a .459 batting average. |
