Medina 5-for-5 for Gamecocks Monday, October 24th , 2044 Willie Medina was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at Carolina Stadium, the University of South Carolina left fielder blistered the University of Toronto Marlies for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 10-4 victory. "Medina was too tough to get out today," Marlies skipper Major Manager said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Willie Medina doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Leon Benitez in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. For the year Medina is batting .291 with 12 home runs. |
