Division 2 Names Williams Best Batter Monday, October 31st , 2044 So far in his young career, Sam Williams has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Division 2 in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 17-year-old Wichita State University Shockers first baseman hit at a torrid .706 clip as he collected 12 hits in 17 at-bats, 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. This season Williams is batting .372 with 81 hits and 20 home runs. He has scored 54 times and has 43 runs batted in. |
