University of South Carolina Starter Named DIV I's #1 Pitcher Tuesday, November 1st , 2044 October's best hurler was Jim Sanders of University of South Carolina. He overwhelmed DIV I hitters all month long and captured the Pitcher of the Month award as he collected a 5-0 record in 6 starts. The 18-year-old Sanders added 30 strikeouts in 32 innings and 7 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.41 ERA. Other clubs hit .202 against him. This year Sanders has worked 81.1 innings with 72 strikeouts en route to a 5-3 record and 2.99 ERA. |
