Walton Picked Best Player Monday, November 21st , 2044 17-year-old Jonathon Walton made a few University of Toronto headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Dvision 1 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 14 hits in 27 at-bats to put up a .519 average. Walton collected 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 6 runs. This season Walton is batting .347 with 99 hits and 21 home runs. He has scored 49 times and has 70 RBI. |
