There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Rudolf Gommers is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Sacramento River Cats at Southwest University park today. The monster effort from the 38-year-old left fielder helped the El Paso Chihuahuas take the win, 15-8.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said River Cats manager Kenneth Wise. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Rudolf Gommers singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Gael Greene in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Herman Ruiz in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

Gommers's current batting average stands at .266 and he has chalked up 6 home runs and 29 RBIs.
