A jubilant Paul Landes joined the postgame press conference at Arvest Ballpark today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Montgomery Biscuits third baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Biscuits to a 28-1 win.

"He made it look easy," said Zac Rosscup, manager of the Naturals. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Paul Landes doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Allen Crenshaw in the 6th and walked in the 7th.

This year Landes is batting .341 with 7 home runs. He has scored 47 runs and driven in 40.
