Ephron on Fire: 5-for-6 for Arkansas
|
Arkansas catcher Malachi Ephron had a big day at Dickey-Stephens Park today against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Travelers to a 22-0 triumph over Northwest Arkansas.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Ephron said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Malachi Ephron hit a three-run home run off Joel Page in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
This year Ephron is batting .150 with 3 home runs and 14 RBIs.
