Josh Jones put on a hitting clinic today as the Columbia Fireflies dumped the Tennessee Smokies 14-2 at Smokies Park.

The Columbia second baseman made Tennessee defenders earn their pay, lashing Tennessee pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Jones said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Josh Jones singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
