Rochester Draws Blanks Against Turner Tuesday, June 27th , 2045 It wasn't easy but the Salt Lake Bees made it look that way. Starter Nigel Turner shut out the Rochester Red Wings despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Salt Lake Bees cruised to victory, 5-0. Turner allowed only 2 hits and rang up 3 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." For the season Turner has no saves, tossed 94 innings, fanned 72 batters and produced an ERA of 3.16. He has also been credited with 4 wins and 7 losses. |
