Great Day for Garland -- 5 Hits Friday, July 14th , 2045 5 times is the charm -- at least for Mike Garland. The Nashville Sounds right fielder tore up the Toledo Mud Hens to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Fifth Third Field today. The offensive onslaught from Garland powered the Sounds to a 23-2 win. "Garland was a tough out today," Toledo manager Chris Amador said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Mike Garland singled in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Alexis Priego in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Will Lane in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. This year Garland is batting .321 with 9 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 4 times and has batted in 8 runs. |
