Leavitt Brilliant, Fans 15 Saturday, July 22nd , 2045 El Paso Chihuahuas starter Chris Leavitt brought his best stuff to Southwest University park today against the Iowa Cubs, striking out 15 batters in his club's 27-0 victory. In a strong performance, the 24-year-old Leavitt gave up 1 hit in his 7 innings of work and issued no walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my slider was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." In 11 starts this season Leavitt has compiled a 6-3 record and a 3.24 ERA. |
