New Orleans Shut Out by Temples
Monday, July 31st , 2045
All went well for Andy Temples of the Reno Aces as he pitched his team to a 8-0 shutout victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs, limiting them to 3 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Temples on the day.
"Andy's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Aces manager Max Scherzer. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Reno right-hander rang up 6 and surrendered 2 walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Zephyrs manager Robbie Ray. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
In 17 starts this season Temples has gathered 12 wins while suffering 4 losses. He has pitched 108 innings, allowed 94 hits, struck out 79 and has a 3.75 ERA.
