Barrett Dominates Tides in 10-0 Shutout Friday, August 4th , 2045 The Norfolk Tides had no answer today for Durham Bulls pitcher Steve Barrett. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 10-0. Norfolk managed only 4 hits off Barrett, who had 10 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Barrett got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Bulls fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible." So far this year Barrett has a 18-1 record with a 0.76 ERA. |
