No Hits for Giesler, Streak Ends at 21 Monday, August 7th , 2045 Oklahoma City center fielder Jeremy Giesler came into today's game against the Gwinnett Braves on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Braves did their jobs well, beating the Oklahoma City Dodgers 4-1 and holding Giesler hitless to snap his 21-game hitting streak. The 32-year-old center fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Jeremy did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Dodgers manager Kelvin Beltre. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 21 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." |
