Contreras Whitewashes Mud Hens Wednesday, August 9th , 2045 In an outstanding mound performance, Buffalo Bisons starter Angel Contreras fired a complete-game shutout against the Toledo Mud Hens at Coca-Cola Field today. Contreras was the key to the Bisons's 9-0 win. The 36-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 2 hits and no walks he allowed. "2 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." Currently Contreras has a record of 11-3 with 130 strikeouts and 28 walks in 133 innings and a 2.37 ERA. |
