Wormell Sizzles -- Smokes Cubs for 5 Hits Sunday, August 13th , 2045 Louisville third baseman Tim Wormell had a big day at Louisville Slugger Field today against the Iowa Cubs. The 29-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Bats to a 16-0 triumph over Iowa. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Wormell said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Tim Wormell walked in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season in 78 games Wormell is batting .294 with 5 home runs, 38 RBIs and has scored 41 times. |
