Contreras Holds Tacoma Scoreless Friday, August 25th , 2045 In an outstanding mound performance, Buffalo Bisons starter Angel Contreras fired a complete-game shutout against the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium today. Contreras was the key to the Bisons's 5-0 win. The 36-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and 1 walk he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." Checking out his stats for the season, Contreras has racked up 13 wins and 4 losses in 20 starts, 2.16 ERA and struck out 149 batters in 158.1 innings. |
