Smack Wins NL Player of the Week Trophy Monday, September 4th , 2045 A battle-tested Joe Smack declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 33-year-old Reno left fielder collected the National League Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .367 average, 11 hits in 30 at-bats, 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Thus far this season Smack is hitting .278 with 8 home runs, 24 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 44 hits in 158 at-bats and has played in 40 games. |
